The F220APC-1064 by ThorLabs is a high-performance fiber collimation package that is pre-aligned to ensure precise collimation of light from an FC/APC-terminated fiber with diffraction-limited performance. With its compact design and no moveable parts, the F220APC-1064 is an ideal choice for easy integration into existing setups.
The F220APC-1064 features an aspheric lens that has a wavelength-dependent effective focal length (EFL) because of chromatic aberration. The design wavelength represents the wavelength at which ideal beam divergence is achieved. The aspheric lens is factory-aligned for collimation at the design wavelength when connected to its specified single mode fiber patch cable. The lens has an anti-reflective (AR) coating on both sides, reducing surface reflections for improved performance. It can also be used at other wavelengths within the AR coating range.
The F220APC-1064 is intended for use with single mode fiber patch cables and is recommended to be used with a compatible AR-coated single mode fiber optic patch cable for optimal performance. The F220APC-1064 operates within a temperature range of -40 °C to 93 °C, making it suitable for use in a range of environments. The F220APC-1064 is housed in non-magnetic stainless steel and is designed to simplify fiber-coupled detection systems. To mount the collimation package, a compatible collimator mounting adapter such as a kinematic collimator mounting adapter is recommended as it provides pitch and yaw adjustment. Additionally, this collimation package features external threading of M11 x 0.5 and has a focal length of 11.17 mm.
