The F810APC-2000 by ThorLabs is a highly advanced fiber collimation package that offers exceptional performance in collimating laser beams. This package is pre-aligned to ensure that laser beams propagating from the tip of an FC/APC terminated fiber are collimated with diffraction-limited precision at the design wavelength. The doublet lens in the F810APC-2000 has an effective focal length (EFL) that is wavelength-dependent due to chromatic aberration. In order to ensure optimal performance, the doublet lens is fine-tuned for each design wavelength to ensure that when inserted into the F810APC-2000, it is precisely positioned so that it is a focal length apart from the tip of the fiber. The F810APC-2000 can be paired with a single mode fiber optic patch cable that has an antireflection coating on one end. This provides better transmission and return loss than usual, resulting in improved performance at the fiber-to-free-space interface. It is optimized for fibers that are single mode and compatible with hybrid SMA-terminated single mode fiber optic patch cables.
