The ILP1310PM-APC from ThorLabs is a highly efficient in-line fiber polarizer that allows linearly polarized light to pass through while blocking the orthogonal polarization from an unpolarized or randomly polarized light source. The ILP1310PM-APC is ideal for use in a wide range of applications such as fiber optic networks, polarization analysis, polarization monitoring and control, polarization mode dispersion (PMD) monitoring, and polarization extinction ratio (PER) improvement. It can also be used effectively with polarization-maintaining fiber amplifiers, fiber lasers, and high-speed communication systems and instrumentation.

Crafted from lightweight and durable materials, the ILP1310PM-APC has a compact size of just Ø5.5 mm x 35 mm, making it highly portable and convenient for fieldwork. It also has a wavelength range of 1310 ± 50 nm and is made of polarization maintaining (PM) fiber type, ensuring that it can attenuate the orthogonally polarized light with a high extinction ratio of 28dB. Moreover, the ILP1310PM-APC can be used to enhance the extinction ratio of polarized signals, thus offering superior performance compared to other products on the market.

The output polarization and 2.0 mm narrow key of the connector on the ILP1310PM-APC are aligned to the slow axis of the fiber, ensuring high-quality transmission of polarized signals. Each pigtailed end of this in-line fiber polarizer is clearly marked as "Input" or "Output," making it easy to use for even those with limited experience in the field. Additionally, the ILP1310PM-APC can be used in reverse, although it's essential to note that all specs, including insertion loss and extinction ratio, may vary from unit to unit.
