The M14L01 by ThorLabs is the perfect step index fiber patch cable for a broad range of wavelengths from 250 nm to 2400 nm. With its SMA905 connectors on either end, the M14L01 is built to perform in a variety of applications, including spectroscopy, LED energy transmission, optogenetics, medical instruments, and illumination.

The M14L01 is designed with practicality and durability in mind, featuring two protective caps that safeguard the connector ends from dust and other hazards. Its orange Ø3 mm PVC furcation tubing adds an extra layer of protection, ensuring that the cable remains intact even under challenging conditions. With a numerical aperture of 0.22 and a core diameter of Ø50 µm, the M14L01 is perfect for transmitting light efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. However, it's essential to note that this patch cable isn't suitable for applications in which fibers are required to carry high optical powers because the epoxy in the connectors can experience heating that is catastrophic when exposed to excessive powers.
