The M29L01 by ThorLabs is a multimode fiber optic patch cable that is the optimal choice for spectroscopy, illumination, LED energy transmission, medical instrumentation, and optogenetics applications. Featuring SMA (straight ferrule) connectors on both cable ends, the M29L01 cable is designed to provide reliable and precise fiber optic connections across a broad wavelength range of 400 to 2200 nm.

The M29L01 cable also comes with two caps that are protective and effectively shield the connector ends from dust and other environmental hazards. This protective feature ensures that the cable will remain free of contamination and maintain optimal performance over time. Additionally, the M29L01 cable features Ø3 mm PVC furcation tubing that is orange, which further enhances its durability and provides excellent protection against environmental stresses. It is not advisable to use this kind of cable for tasks where the fiber optics need to be at higher electrical powers, as it can lead to extreme temperature buildup in the connector’s epoxy. With a low OH, length of 1 meter, and a 0.39 numerical aperture, the M29L01 cable delivers consistent and reliable performance, ensuring that measurements are accurate and repeatable.
