The PRO800 by ThorLabs is a highly versatile and modular benchtop chassis designed to provide top-notch performance for research applications in a laboratory environment. This state-of-the-art device comes equipped with two module slots, each of which can accommodate and configure up to two plug-in modules. Whether you're conducting electrical or optical experiments, the PRO800 is the perfect tool for meeting your research needs.
Designed to be compact, the PRO800 has dimensions of 232 mm x 147 mm x 396 mm and a weight of less than 9 kg. The universal modular platform ensures that the device is optimal for production and quality control. All input and output controls are located to the front of the modules, allowing for easy access and management. The PRO800 has a maximum power consumption of 220 VA, a maximum output current per slot of 4 A, and a maximum output power current for all slots of 8 A, making it powerful enough to handle even the most demanding applications. Furthermore, the PRO800 is compatible with various optical switches as well as temperature controllers and current controllers, which are used for laser diode operation, characterization, or burn-in applications.
The PRO800 has a user-friendly design that includes a display menu, allowing for easy configuration of any connected module. Settings are retained in system memory and can be automatically recalled when powering on the system if modules have not been moved to different slots. Automatic identification and simple configuration and control of individual modules is done using front panel controls, which makes the device easy to use even for novice users. Additionally, when not in use, the empty module slots of the PRO800 can be covered using the compatible PRO8000-C cover plates.
The PRO800 can be set in two different modes: continuous mode or triggered mode. In continuous mode, all values are measured as quickly as possible, while in triggered mode, measurement speed is affected by the read frequency of measured values and can stop reading measurements if the value limit is reached. This ensures that the device is fully customizable to meet the specific experimental needs of each user. The PRO800 also operates with line voltages to supply power to the system. The line fuse, located on the back panel of the PRO800, has various values that should only be used with the corresponding line voltage value. A T2.5H250V line value corresponds to a 100 V ±10% line voltage, a T2.5H250V line value corresponds to a 115 V ±10% line voltage, and a T1.25H250V line value corresponds to a 230 V ±10% line voltage.
