The ThorLabs PRO8000-4 is an exceptional modular rack chassis designed to cater to the needs of large test setups and manufacturing environments for the operation of electrical and optical modules. With its eight module slots that can be customly configured for up to eight modules, the PRO8000-4 offers unmatched flexibility, making it an ideal option for high-power applications.
The PRO8000-4 has a maximum power consumption of 800 VA, a maximum output current per slot of 4 A, and a maximum output current for all slots of 32 A. It offers a user-friendly display menu that enables easy access to the configuration of modules. The modules are automatically identified, and any previous settings are recalled from the system memory if the modules have not been removed from the slots. When the module slots are not in use, they can be covered using PRO8009-C front cover plates.
The PRO8000-4 receives power from line voltages. On the rear panel of the device, the line fuse has values that correspond to specific line voltage values. For instance, a T8H250V line value corresponds to a 100 V ±10% line voltage, a T8H250V line value corresponds to a 115 V ±10% line voltage, and a T4H250V line value corresponds to a 230 V ±10% line voltage. The PRO8000-4 is compatible with various temperature controllers and current controllers, providing users with more control over their setups. In addition, it is designed to work seamlessly with WDM laser sources and optical switches.
The PRO8000-4 offers several protective measures to ensure user safety. These include a key-operated power control switch, an interlock connector, and protection against over-temperature of the mainframe, over-temperature of the modules, transients, interrupted wiring, too high laser or TEC currents, and too high optical power. The PRO8000-4 can also be used with compatible 19” rack mounting systems and it is essential to maintain a one height-unit space between the different housing to ensure proper ventilation because of the ventilation slots located underneath the front panel of the device. It has dimensions of 449 mm x 177 mm x 456 mm and weighs less than 21 kg.
