The MLS203P3 by Thorlabs is a blank adapter plate that is utilized for custom or non-standard applications. The MLS203P3 is supplied free of holes, making it an ideal blank slate for drilling and tapping with the necessary tools for mounting to a stage.

To fit the adapter plate to a microscope, the plate must be carefully drilled and tapped to ensure a secure fit. Once this is done, the MLS203P3 can be easily fitted into the recess in the stage, and secured in each corner using the M3 captive screws. It's important to note that through bolts and nuts should not be utilized when drilling or tapping, and fixing bolts should not protrude through the plate. These precautions are necessary to avoid potential clashes with the microscope objectives, which could result in damage to the microscope or other equipment.
