The PFM450 Objective Mount from Thorlabs is a top-of-the-line solution for applications that require highly accurate positioning control. This product is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the PPC001 closed-loop, precision piezo controller, providing controlled focusing and active location feedback. The stage features a monolithic flexure made from hardened tool steel and houses a precision geometry capacitive feedback sensor that uses ultra-stable electrode plates, resulting in submicron repeatability and resolution of 1 nm in open loop and 3 nm in closed loop.

The PFM450 offers a drive voltage of -30 V to 150 V and comes with a male 15-Way mixed signal combination d-sub connector and a 2 m cable. It also provides active feedback to compensate for thermal changes and other factors that might lead to drift, making it an ideal solution for laser scanning microscopy setups, among others.

The PFM450 mount allows you to achieve up to 150V/150mA on each channel. It's designed with a combination of fast digital signal processors (DSP), low-noise analog electronics, and ActiveX® software technology, making it an ideal choice for single-axis motion with minimal effort. Multiple axes can be driven by connecting one or more benchtop units via a standard USB hub.

The PFM450 can be mounted to most inverted or upright microscopes from major manufacturers or independently in "home built" setups. A mounting adapter must be fitted to the microscope first. It is recommended that the PFM450 piezo mount be operated with a pitch rotation.

This closed-loop position control system features a digital PID controller and dual notch filters, ensuring the setpoint position is maintained with maximum accuracy. The PFM450 actuator has a capacitive position sensor, the digital domain output of which is linearized and precisely calibrated to the sensor for improved accuracy. The system is capable of dampening the natural mechanical resonance of the actuator through its dual notch filter.

Please note that the PFM450 focus mount is designed to work exclusively with the Thorlabs PPC001 150V Piezo Controller. The dimensions of the PFM450 are 2.72 in x 2.36 in x 1.38 in and it weighs 0.84 lbs.
