The MPM-BCU Multiphoton Beam Conditioner from Thorlabs is a powerful tool for optimizing laser beams for use in multiphoton imaging systems. With its advanced automation features, it allows the user to easily adjust both the attenuation and expansion of the laser beam, directly from the ThorImageLS™ graphical user interface. The beam conditioner also comes with a standalone GUI interface for integration into custom imaging systems. The diameter of the laser beam output can be continuously varied from 1 to 4 times the diameter of the input laser beam, making it perfect for matching the back focal aperture of the objective selected.
With a power range of 0% to 100%, the user can easily adjust the power of the laser at the sample, with the minimum power value limited by the purity of the input polarization state. The software also includes a power ramping function that allows the user to increase the laser power as the system images deeper into a sample, making it perfect for creating three-dimensional images of a sample. The standard MPM-BCU can accommodate an input beam height of 4.75" and features SM1 (1.035"-40) threaded input and output apertures, allowing for easy enclosure of the beam paths.
The MPM-BCU is a versatile and advanced optical device that is designed for full software integration and automated power ramp functionality. It is perfect for creating Z-slacks and can be easily mounted to a standard optical table thanks to its 1/4 inch holes on the base. With a wide wavelength range of 680-1400 nm and beam expansion of 1X-4X, it offers a high level of attenuation of 0% to 100% at the sample. The input beam height of the device is 121 mm (or 4.75 inches) while the output beam height is 114 mm (or 4.5 inches). The MPM-BCU comes in a compact and durable design, measuring 21.25 inches by 10.75 inches by 7 inches.
