The ThorLabs PM20CH is a fiber optic power meter that is the perfect solution for measuring fiber power values. This easy-to-use, handheld device is a robust and flexible fiber-optic power measurement system that comes equipped with a built-in optical system, making it ideal for use in a variety of applications within the 800 nm - 1700 nm InGaAs range. Whether measurements are needed in the field or the laboratory, the PM20CH is up to the task.

Featuring a rugged enclosure and internal sensors, the PM20CH is built to last. It also comes with a convenient kickstand, so it can be set it up wherever it’s needed. It boasts a user-friendly alphanumeric 8-digit LC display that allows for easy power read-outs, and its intuitive design features a clearly labeled keypad with common features such as wavelength setting, relative measurements, power read-out, and auto-shutdown. The PM20CH is a dependable and accurate tool for power measurements, providing precise 3 digit logarithmic and 4 digit linear power readings, together with units and additional system data. The display button enables you to toggle between linear or logarithmic representation of power readings, while the delta button allows for relative power measurements and can display a saved offset level or new offset level.

The PM20CH is powered by a 6V, 150 mAh nickel-metal-hybrid battery, which provides up to 50 hours of operation time and fast recharging times. This battery operation also results in efficient and low-power circuitry. Please note that an external industry standard fiber adapter is required to change this battery. The characteristics of this device include an optical power range of -50 dBm to 23 dBm, an InGaAs sensor, absolute and relative measurements reported in dB, dBm, and W, and a NIST-traceable wavelength with the ability to be calibrated in 5 nm steps. The PMPS power supply of the PM20CH operates at line voltages of 100 V to240 V ± 10% and line frequencies of 50 and 60Hz.

At just 4.9" x 3.1" x 1.5" and weighing in at 0.44 lbs, the PM20CH is a compact and lightweight instrument that is easy to carry around. It is also designed to deliver very accurate measurements over a long period of time. To maintain this high level of performance, it is recommended that the user services and recalibrates the device once a year.
