The S130C by ThorLabs is a slim photodiode power sensor that offers precision and reliability in taking optical source power measurements, especially in locations where space and accessibility are limited.
Featuring a sleek and compact design of only 5mm, the S130C is ideal for fitting between closely spaced optics, cage systems, and other arrangements where standard power meters may not be able to fit. The sensor's slim design does not compromise on functionality, as it has a large Ø9.5mm sensor aperture and slidable neutral density (ND) filter, which allows for dual power ranges in one device. The slidable ND filter of the S130C enlarges the power range by approximately a factor of 100. The position of the filter is automatically recognized by the connected console after a few seconds, allowing for accurate power level calculation with the right responsivity value.
Constructed with a ruggedized aluminum head, the S130C can be held by hand or mounted with its 8-32 and M4 threaded mounting holes to posts and post holders. Its large active area silicon photodiode offers high resolution and fast response time, ensuring precise and efficient measurements. The S130C is compatible with all C-series power meter consoles and many power and energy meter interfaces, making it a versatile addition to any lab or testing environment. For optimal accuracy and performance, it is recommended that the power meter sensor be recalibrated yearly, although calibration should remain stable for a longer period of time.
