The ThorLabs S142C is an exceptional integrating sphere power sensor head that offers unmatched optical power measurement independent of the incoming beam's divergence angle, shape, and entrance angle. This high-quality optical power meter head can detect light ranging from 1 µW to 5 W, making it perfect for both off-axis free space and fiber-coupled applications.
The S142C is versatile and compatible with various fiber adapters, including SM1 (1.035"-40) thread adapter, FC fiber adapter, and SMA, LC, ST, and SC connectors. The sensor head has both M4-threaded and 8-32-threaded tapped holes that make it easy to mount the device to Ø1/2" post holders and posts. The large Ø12 mm aperture and better protection from interference from the electromagnetic field make the S142C ideal for demanding applications.
The S142C is equipped with a range of exceptional features, including an sensor that alerts over-temperature, large active detector areas, and compatibility with a S120-FC fiber adapter that can be used in tandem with a FC/APC-terminated fiber or FC/PC-terminated fiber. With the use of a size 1 screwdriver, the external SM1-threaded adapter can be removed with ease, allowing components to be placed in closer proximity to the window. This sensor head is specifically designed for wavelength ranges from the visible through the NIR, making it perfect for a wide range of applications. The black housing is optimized to minimize reflected light around the entrance aperture, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. Silicon photodiodes are used for detection in the 350 - 1100 nm range, ensuring that the S142C is a highly accurate and reliable power sensor head.
