The S146C by ThorLabs is an integrating sphere photodiode power sensor, the perfect solution for those seeking accurate optical power measurement that is independent of the divergence angle and shape of the incoming beam. The S146C is the ideal solution when it comes to measuring power with accuracy and precision, as it is unaffected by variations in divergence angle, beam uniformity, entrance angle, or beam shape – especially when dealing with fiber or free space sources that are off-axis.
Designed for compatibility with SM1 (1.035"-40) thread adapters and FC fiber adapters, the S146C offers 8-32- and M4-threaded tapped holes for mounting to Ø1/2" posts and post holders. This sensor connector offers memory that is non-volatile, wherein it can store data from the sensors along with traceable calibration data from PTB and NIST. The S146C has a large Ø12mm aperture, additional protection against EMI, and an over-temperature alarm sensor. These features make the S146C ideal for applications that require a reliable connection in sensitive environments.
Due to the S146C’s large active detector area, the S120-FC fiber adapter works perfectly with FC/PC or FC/APC-terminated fibers for better connectivity. Furthermore, the SM1-threaded adapter can be detached with a size 1 screwdriver, so that components can be closer to the window when necessary. Designed for wavelength ranges from the visible through the NIR, the S146C uses an InGaAs photodiode for detection in the 900 - 1650 nm wavelength range. It can detect light from 10 µW up to 20 W, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. The sensor itself has dimensions of 70 x 74 x 70 mm and weighs 0.6 kg.
