This level of power stability is achieved through an extensive burn-in period, followed by a setup that filters out a 2 nm wide slice of the output spectrum. This slice is then sent to an optical power meter/spectrum analyzer and monitored for optimal performance.

The power stability of the ASE-FL7002-C4 is centered at 1552.57 nm, and from this plot, the wavelength stability can be deduced. Since the 2 nm window is centered on the side of a spectral peak, any wavelength shifts will result in an intensity change.
