The Thorlabs HPLS343 is a high power plasma light source that offers unparalleled performance and versatility. Equipped with a liquid light guide, this device provides white light output with a large core size and high NA. Unlike conventional optical fibers, the core of the liquid light guide (LLG) is made of a non-toxic and non-flammable liquid that is sealed inside a polymer tube with silica tips on both ends. The LLG's transmission window covers the entire visible spectrum, making it an ideal tool for delivering intense light output from the HPLS343. 

The HPLS343 light source features a user-friendly front panel with an LCD screen, external control button, shutter control button, and a knob to adjust light intensity. There is also a port and release switch for the liquid light guide, as well as a light source state indicator LED. On the back panel, you'll find multiple ports including BNC ports for external shutter control, analog in, and trigger in, as well as SMA ports for trigger out and analog out. The device also includes a USB port, AC power inlet, and fuse drawer for added convenience and reliability. 

The HPLS343 light source offers flexible and intuitive control options through the USB port. With the ability to be controlled by a command-line language, users have the option to use a terminal emulator or write their own custom program to manage the unit. The comprehensive command language is described in detail, providing users with all the information they need to make the most of their light source. 

To ensure maximum lifespan of the liquid light guide, the HPLS343 actively monitors the temperature of the tip and cools as necessary to prevent overheating. The light source provides a full color spectrum with a wavelength range from 350 nm to 800 nm. In case of a minor malfunction, the LED on the power switch glows purple, and a warning message will be displayed on the LCD screen. In the event of a fatal error, the LED on the power switch glows red, and all functions of the light source will be disabled until the error is cleared.
