The ITC8052 by ThorLabs is a high-performance laser diode and temperature controller designed  specifically for use with the PRO8000 device. This advanced controller is ideal for maintaining the operating parameters of a connected laser diode, and provides superior performance and control over traditional temperature controllers.

The ITC8052 offers an impressive 0 to ±500 mA drive current range, along with a TEC controller that provides up to ±2 A/16 W. This controller is equipped with two connectors; one is a 15-pin for thermal electric cooler (TEC) current output and the other is a 9-pin connector for laser current output. It has an significantly reduced laser current noise and exceptional temperature stability better than than 0.002 °C, which ensures consistent and accurate operation in either constant current or constant power mode. One of the most notable features of the ITC8052 is its PRO8 display menu, which allows for the easy configuration of any module in the chassis. Memory support is provided to all operational parameters through mnemonic symbols, and the settings are stored in advance so that they are quickly accessible when powering on the mainframe. This makes it much easier to use and eliminates any need to input settings repeatedly. Additionally, the ITC8052 features a key-operated power switch and an action check, which ensures that the device is always operating safely and effectively.

The ITC8052 is also designed with a compact and efficient housing that includes the laser diode, monitor diode, TEC element, and temperature sensor. This ensures that all the components are located in a single place, which makes it easy to maintain and service.
