The LDC340 by ThorLabs is a versatile and reliable benchtop dual current range laser diode controller. The LDC340 is compatible with the IEEE488.2 interface, with an additional DIP switch bank for setting the IEEE 488 device address, and a 24 pin IEEE488 jack for easy connectivity. The device is designed with safety in mind, with an LED indicator that alerts the user if the laser output is switched on, and conditions that prevent the laser current from being activated if not met. For even greater control, the LDC340 features a potentiometer at the back panel that allows for adjustment of the speed of the regulation loop in constant power mode. This feature ensures that the settling time is optimized for the specific application at hand.
