Moreover, it can be fully remote controlled via an SCPI compatible USB Interface, providing higher setting and measurement resolution and added convenience.

The LDC4020 enables impressive functionality with its features, like the Quasi-Continuous Wave (QCW) operational mode, an integrated modulation generator, a thermopile input, laser voltage measurement capacity, and optical power limitation. The internal modulation generator offers an AC coupled sine, triangle, or square signal, with a modulation frequency range of 20 Hz to 50 kHz and a modulation depth of 0.1% to 100%. This modulated operation of laser diodes in constant current and constant power modes makes the LDC4020 even more versatile. In addition to its excellent features, the LDC4020 is also designed for efficient and silent operation, ensuring that it can be used comfortably and unobtrusively in any environment. It is recommended that the controller be calibrated once every 24 months, ensuring that it continues to provide reliable and accurate performance.

The LDC4020 is capable of delivering sharp and accurate 100 µs pulses of 20A peak current without any unwanted overshoots, making it an ideal choice for both continuous wave (CW) and quasi-CW (QCW) operation modes. With its enhanced protection features, including a precisely adjustable current limit, soft start feature, and protection against power line failure, the LDC4020 ensures that laser diodes are well protected against any potential damage. With a maximum output current of 20A, the laser diode current limit can be set from 20mA to 20.2A in the LD Source Setup menu. This limit is active in both the constant current and constant power modes, providing additional protection against excessive laser current.
