The LT220P-B by ThorLabs is a premium laser diode collimation tube designed to provide high-quality collimation for Ø5.6 and Ø9 mm laser diodes. The LT220P-B utilizes an optic that ensures precise alignment and minimal loss of optical power.
The LT220P-B is designed to work seamlessly with M9 x 0.5 threaded mounted aspheric lenses, and can be easily installed or removed using a compatible spanner wrench. It also supports strain relief and ESD protection cables, as well as standard Ø1" mounts. The LT220P-B package includes the main tube, an optic, a retaining ring, a rubber O-ring, and an adapter. It should be noted that the LT220P-B does not have any temperature regulation or measurement capability. Therefore, it is not recommended to use it with higher power laser diodes without additional thermal regulation. High operating temperatures can significantly shorten the lifetime of a laser diode, which makes it crucial to ensure adequate thermal regulation.
