The M625L3 by ThorLabs is a mounted LED that features a single LED that is mounted to the end of a Ø30.5 mm heat sink. To ensure optimal performance, the M625L3 LED requires a constant current that must not exceed the maximum current. It is important to note that the current source must be able to deliver this current at the specified forward voltage.
The M625L3 is equipped with 6 mm deep internal SM1 (1.035"-40) threads, which allow for easy integration with other compatible components. The M625L3 also incorporates an integrated EEPROM chip in each LED that stores information about the LED, including forward voltage, wavelength, and current limit. With a compatible LED controller, this LED information can be read and interpreted at the convenience of the user.
The M625L3 has a nominal wavelength of 635 nm and is compatible with a 4-pin female mating connector which allows for custom power supplies to be configured based on the needs of the user. The M625L3 is also compatible with adapter systems that involve an anti-reflection aspherical lens for collimation. To provide collimation adjustment, a translating carriage can be used and locked with a ball driver or 2 mm (5/64”) hex key. Furthermore, the collimation adapter has an internal SM2 (2.035"-40) thread adapter, making it easy to integrate with SM2-threaded components such as a microscope port adapter.
