The ThorLabs S3FC1310 is a versatile Distributed FeedBack (DFB) benchtop laser source, designed to simplify coupling and control of laser diode driven fiber optics. With the S3FC1310, precise control of laser output power and temperature is achievable, allowing users to tune the fiber coupled laser diode to an optimal operating point, resulting in a stable output.
The S3FC1310 is designed with a thermo-electric cooler that helps maintain the output wavelength and a 40 dB optical isolator which eliminates any frequency jitter that might arise from back reflections. The S3FC1310 can cover an extensive wavelength range up to 1310 nm. This laser source provides easy adjustment of the diode temperature and output power through the two front panel adjustment knobs, ensuring precise tuning to match the laser cavity. The front panel display of the S3FC1310 shows the output power in mW or the temperature in °C, along with an on/off key, an enable button, and the FC/PC bulkhead connector, which is both wide and narrow key compatible. The back panel includes an input that allows for the laser diode drive current to be controlled via an external voltage source, as well as a remote interlock input.
The S3FC1310 also boasts a variety of other features, including an interlock circuit via a 2.5 mm Mono Jack, an adjustable temperature setpoint, a narrow spectral linewidth of typically <0.06 nm, and a single mode FC/PC fiber interface.
