The ThorLabs AMR001DP/M NanoRoll Rotational Stage is a versatile and precise angular positioner designed to meet the most demanding laboratory and industrial requirements.
The AMR001DP/M offers ultrasmooth axial Øx angular rotation, which makes it an ideal choice for standalone angular positioning or as a goniometer when used with the AMA 023 tabletop mounting adaptor. The AMR001DP/M can be configured in multiple ways to meet specific application needs. For standalone angular positioning, the tabletop mounting adaptors AMA 023 or AMA 015 with 75mm or 125mm optical axis heights can be used. Additionally, it can be attached to other ThorLabs stages such as MicroBlock, NanoBlock, and NanoMax 300 stages, to form a four-axis (x-y-z-Øx) stage. It can also be directly attached to the stationary sides of these stages to obtain Øx precision rotation at the standard 75-mm optical height adjacent to the x-y-z platform.
To ensure efficient operation, the AMR001DP/M must be mounted with the open face against the supporting bracket using the four M3 cap head screws and washers provided. Fiber washers are supplied where necessary to prevent the screws from overdriving and to minimize the risk of foreign objects becoming trapped in the drive mechanism. For enhanced precision and fine adjustments, the AMR001DP/M can be fitted with a precision differential micrometer drive, which offers 12 degrees of manual motion and 10 arc minutes of ultrafine adjustment with a resolution of 1 arc second. It is also available with an internal piezoelectric actuator that provides 45 arc seconds of rotation with a resolution of 0.1 arc second. This configuration is perfect for use as a precision, remotely controlled goniometer and for fiber-launch applications into polarization-preserving fibers.
With a compatible stepper motor controller, the AMR001DP/M can be fully automated using a NanoStep motor drive. Commands can be set to configure each axis, move each axis to its home position to establish a zero datum, and move each axis by relative and absolute amounts. Electrical limit switches are incorporated, preventing the motor from driving beyond its working limits, ensuring safe and reliable operation. If a programmed movement takes the stage past its maximum travel, a limit switch trips, and the motor is halted. Movement is possible only in the opposite direction until the switch is released.
