The CR1/M-Z7 by ThorLabs is a motorized rotation stage that is engineered for optimal performance in optical laboratories. The CR1/M-Z7 is packed with impressive features, including 360-degree continuous motion, a high torque DC-Servo Motor with a gear head and optical encoder, and a high count optical encoder. Additionally, it is designed for mounting series translation stages using an adapter plate and is application tested for vertical loads up to 25 lbs. With a 256:1 gear reduction head, the rotator provides minute movements over the entire travel range, ensuring complete control over rotational experiments. The gear train of the rotational stage begins with the main platform that is fixed directly to a worm gear. This worm gear is actuated by the worm, which is attached to the output shaft of the gearhead fixed to the motor. In turn, the motor rotates in order to rotate double thread worm gear.

The CR1/M-Z7 is designed for ease of use, with a CR1 adapter that can be used to mount the rotator stage via the #6 (M4) clearance holes with four 6-32 (M4) cap screws. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended that a KDC101 K-Cube controller is used. The CR1/M-Z7 is also designed with the reduction of waste in mind.
