The DRV517 by ThorLabs is a highly advanced differential micrometer that comes equipped with an integrated piezoelectric element. It has been specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with translation stages or mirror mounts, and is built to deliver optimal precision and accuracy in every application.

The DRV517 has a manual adjuster that allows you to make up to ½” of travel adjustments, enabling you to have maximum flexibility and customization options. The adjuster knob features graduated tick marks for every 5 µm of travel, while the main body has tick marks at every 1 mm. This level of detail ensures that you have complete control over the micrometer's positioning, and can make minute adjustments with ease. The DRV517's piezo element is equipped with a strain gauge that is capable of providing positional feedback over the 30 μm of piezo travel with 10 nm of resolution. This enables the user to precisely monitor and control the micrometer's positioning, ensuring the ability to achieve the desired level of accuracy every time.

The DRV517 can be operated in closed-loop mode with compatible K-Cube piezo controllers that include a K-cube strain gauge reader for better accuracy. This powerful combination enables the user to achieve even greater levels of precision and control in your application, making it an ideal choice for demanding research or industrial environments. The DRV517 actuator comes equipped with a Ø9.5 mm (Ø3/8") mounting barrel and has an in-line piezo and a manual micrometer with 1/2" of travel. Additionally, the DRV517 boasts a 12.7 mm manual coarse adjustment, a 30 µm Piezoelectric Fine Adjustment, and compatibility with a piezoelectric feedback converter cable.
