The MAX607L is a Left-Handed 6-Axis NanoMax Stage by Thorlabs, designed to provide exceptional nanometric positioning in six axes for high-resolution alignment or positioning applications. With a flexure design and modular drives, this 6-axis stage offers outstanding performance and flexibility for both manual and automated alignment setups. The MAX607L is designed to be easily customizable with installed actuators, and it does not come with pre-installed piezo actuators, allowing each axis to be configured depending on the precision or automation needed. This means that whether the application is a multimode fiber launch system using thumbscrews or an automated alignment setup using stepper motor actuators, each axis can be configured to meet the demand.
Featuring 4 mm (0.16") of X, Y, and Z travel and 6° (105 mrad) of θx, θy, θz (Roll, Pitch, and Yaw) travel when drives are installed, the MAX607L is a powerful tool for nanopositioning. The innovative flexure design, combined with the system of modular drives, offers exceptional performance and flexibility. The MAX607L stage is suited for the alignment of optical fibers, waveguides, optoelectronic packages, and general-purpose laboratory tasks.
One of the outstanding features of the MAX607L is the common point of rotation, which allows for all actuators to be coupled directly to the base, minimizing any unwanted motion in the system. This reduces the alignment time of a system by eliminating the need for compensating lateral movement when adjusting θx, θy, and θz. The MAX607L 6-Axis NanoMax stage has a stainless steel probe in front of the moving platform, indicating the common pivot point for all rotational axes.
The MAX607L is designed with several holes and slots for mounting on metric or inch optical tables. This ensures secure fixation for optimal performance. Bolting the unit down minimizes the risk of damage from dropping. If the moving platform is driven against a solid object, damage to the internal flexures could occur. The range of travel on each axis is 4 mm total, that is ± 2 mm about the nominal position.
The MAX607L is a highly advanced 6-axis NanoMax stage that is designed for easy customization of installed actuators, with a flexure design that provides exceptional performance and flexibility for both manual and automated alignment setups. Its innovative features, including a common point of rotation and a patented design that minimizes unwanted motion, make it an ideal choice for high-resolution alignment or positioning applications, including general-purpose laboratory tasks.
