The ThorLabs MPZ601 is a high power APT dual-channel piezoelectric controller that is specifically designed to provide precise, reliable and efficient nano-positioning control for a wide range of piezo elements. Specifically, it drives nano-positioning actuators and stages equipped with open and closed loop piezo elements. Equipped with cutting-edge digital signal processing and low-noise analog electronics technology, the MPZ601 offers a silent high resolution position control, waveform generation and voltage ramp capability, a user-controlled digital I/O port, and 10 kHz high bandwidth piezo positioning, among other exceptional features. Thanks to its flexible software settings, this piezo controller is highly configurable to drive a broad range of piezo elements, making it a versatile tool for any laboratory or research setting.

The MPZ601 is designed with user convenience and ease of use in mind. The intuitive software graphical control panels provide seamless access to the controller's features. The MPZ601 also features  extensive ActiveX programming interfaces that can be integrated with other APT family controllers, allowing for effortless integration into existing motion control systems. Additionally, the MPZ601 comes with built-in preventative features to protect against overheating of the piezo driver card, including thermal control circuitry that warns users of the condition and reduces the maximum output current.

The MPZ601 is a perfect match for the MMR601 Motion Control 19” Modular Rack System. With USB connectivity, multiple MPZ691 modules can be fitted onto the rack system, providing at maximum 12 channels of operation within a 4U, 19’ wide enclosure. This ensures maximum efficiency and scalability for larger scale critical alignment applications where nanometer level motion control is required with a high axis count. The APT rack system can be integrated with larger scale custom applications with the unification of the power supply and USB communications interface. 

Embedded software in the MPZ601 drives actuator movement and the graphical user interface of a desktop computer provides access to unit specific routines. In addition, the software includes functions that allow internal and external triggering, programmable search and scan routines, and external inputs. With its compact dimensions of 7.6 x 10.8 x 2.0 in. and weight of 3.3 lbs, the MPZ601 is lightweight and easily transportable.
