The MT1/M by ThorLabs is a translation stage, the ultimate solution for precise motion control in a laboratory or research setting. This MT1/M is equipped to be used with a high-quality 148-811ST micrometer drive that offers a range of 1/2" and 0.001" per division, enabling the user to make precise movements with ease.

The MT1/M boasts a range of features designed to provide maximum versatility and functionality. With seven 1/4"-20 (M6) tapped holes that are 0.25" (6.2 mm) deep, this translation stage can be easily mounted to a wide range of mounting adapters or metric breadboards using user-supplied cap screws. Additionally, two oversized 1/4" (M6) counterbores allow for direct attachment to the preferred mounting adapter, providing further convenience and flexibility. The MT1/M is also built to last, with hardened steel linear bearings that ensure precision motion and long life. Four 8-32 (M4) tapped holes on the bottom face allow for easy mounting of multiple stages to form a 2- or 3-axis stage, making it a versatile tool for laboratory or research applications.

For even greater flexibility, the MT1/M can be mounted on the side without the locking plate using a compatible side-mounted actuator adapter. However, it should be noted that the side with the locking plate is not designed to mount a micrometer. Once the desired position has been achieved, the MT1/M can be locked in place using the convenient side-located 1/16" (1.5 mm) hex locking screw. The actuator on the translation stage can also be removed by simply loosening the screw on the barrel clamp. Furthermore, the MT1/M boasts two precision dowel pins that enable multiple stages to be stacked in a right- or left-handed XY configuration with excellent orthogonality of <5 mrad. This modular design also allows for easy configuration into XYZ orientations.
