The MT3 by ThorLabs is a state-of-the-art XYZ positioning translation stage that offers superior precision and a quick-change modular design for maximum flexibility. The MT3 is equipped with dowel pins that ensure orthogonality between stages, thus making it easy to reconfigure them however needed, depending on the application. They provide precise alignment and help the user stay ahead of the changing requirements.

Featuring a standard 1/2" (12.7 mm) micrometer drive, the MT3 also includes four 1/4" (M6) counterbored slots on the included adapter that enable the stage to be directly attached to a breadboard using user-supplied cap screws. To ensure precise motion and long life, this translation stage is equipped with hardened steel linear bearings. Once the desired position is reached, the MT3 can be locked in place using the side-located 1/16" (1.5 mm) hex locking screw. Furthermore, the MT3 is fitted with seven 1/4"-20 (M6) and four 8-32 (M4) tapped mounting holes that are 0.22" (5.6 mm) deep for added convenience.

For maximum customization, the MT3 can be disassembled using a 3/16" (5 mm) hex key to adjust the positions of the micrometers or to use three MT1 stages separately. Furthermore, the translation stage of this system is augmented with two precision dowel pins, allowing multiple stages to be arranged in a left-handed or right-handed XY configuration with superb orthogonality of less than 5 mrad.
