The RB13M/M by ThorLabs is a 3-axis RollerBlock long-travel stage that is ideally suited for a broad range of photonics applications. With its impressive resolution and range of motion, the RB13M/M is the perfect choice for effective coupling efficiency optimization in fiber alignment or waveguide positioning applications.

The RB13M/M boasts a Vernier scale with 10 µm graduations, which provides a resolution of 5 µm, making it highly accurate and precise. Additionally, its crossed-roller bearing design offers up to 13 mm (1/2") of travel in the X, Y, and Z axes, while still maintaining sub-micron resolution, making it highly versatile for a range of applications. Its steel and aluminum construction also allows for a high load capacity of 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs), making it highly durable and dependable.

One of the standout features of the RB13M/M is its compatibility with a MMP1/M top plate, which offers easy and repeatable alignment of a variety of accessories. This top plate also provides a range of accessories that can be used with the RB13M/M, including optical fibers, diode lasers, gradient-index lenses, spherical ball lenses, and other commonly used optical components. These accessories can be affixed to the top platform via a tongue-in-groove system and secured with cleats and cap screws for added safety. For support when end-firing or butt-coupling to small lightwave devices, there are three extended top platforms accessible. Also, two free-standing table platforms are available, giving a steady platform next to the wavering world of the RB13M/M. These platforms are designed to match the platform height of the stage, allowing accessories to be mounted at the fixed optical axis height of 75mm, adjacent to the accessories being translated.

With a deck height that matches the 62.5mm of other compatible flexure-based translation stages, the RB13M/M makes it easy to integrate into complex optical systems using MicroBlock™ and NanoMax™ series flexure-based stages. This lets the user cover a much longer travel without needing to make any adjustments or changes. The moveable deck has a full 13mm of travel in three orthogonal directions, and includes the standard tongue-in-groove fitting, making it highly adaptable to various configurations.
