The RP01 by ThorLabs is a manual rotation stage that has a Ø2" rotating platform and is ideal for larger optomechanical components requiring smooth, backlash-free rotation. Additionally, the RP01 boasts a Ø2" rotating platform that provides 360º of continuous rotation.
The platform of the RP01 has a scale that is engraved in 2° increments along its outer circumference, with numbers marked every 20° directly under their corresponding tick marks. For higher load capacities, the rotation stage utilizes a needle roller thrust bearing, which provides better stability and smoother rotation. Moreover, this manual rotation stage is cost-effective, making it a valuable addition to an optomechanical setup. The RP01 is easy to use, with rotation of the platform locked by tightening the side-located setscrew using a 5/64" (2.0 mm) balldriver or hex key.
The RP01 is also versatile, with four 8-32 (M4) taps and one central 1/4"-20 (M6) tap that can accommodate larger assemblies such as Ø1/2" or Ø1" post assemblies and optomechanical mounts. The manual rotation stage has four 1/4" (M6) clearance holes in the base, allowing the user to easily mount it to an optical table or breadboard. A side-located 8-32 (M4) mounting hole is included, enabling the user to mount the stage vertically. When mounted in a vertical configuration, the rotation stage has a maximum load capacity of 9 lbs (4 kg). When mounted on a horizontal surface, it can support a load of up to 110 lbs (50 kg). This makes the RP01 a reliable and robust option for a variety of optomechanical needs.
