The ThorLabs TCH002 is a versatile T-Cube controller hub and power supply that has been designed specifically to simplify and streamline any issues that arise when operating T-Cubes. With its compact design, the TCH002 measures 375mm x 86mm x 21.5mm and features an innovative base-plate carrier that is slim and has electrical connections located on the upper surface to accept up to six T-Cubes. This unique design allows for a custom multi-channel driver arrangement that takes up minimal space, which is optimal for a variety of applications.
Because the TCH002 has a fully compliant USB 2.0 hub circuit located inside the unit, the user can easily connect and communicate with all six T-Cubes using a single USB connection. The TCH002 also provides power distribution for all six T-Cubes with only a single power connection, reducing the number of cables required when operating multiple T-Cubes. The controller hub's circuitry provides a number of internal flexible digital and analog interconnect lines for deterministic multiple-cube synchronized operation. Additionally, a piezo controller and strain gauge reader T-Cube can be operated on the TCH002 and configured to operate as a coupled pair, allowing for 'closed loop' control of the wide range of Thorlabs piezo actuators.
Furthermore, the TCH002 provides a rigid mechanical mounting platform for carrying the T-Cubes, with mounting holes drilled into the bottom of the controller hub to allow for a variety of mounting orientations. This means the Controller Hub can be mounted flat to the table surface, edge mounted, or vertically mounted to allow vertical stacking of up to six T-Cube controllers, reducing the optical table footprint to a minimum. In addition to its compatibility with controllers for a number of applications, including motor controllers, piezo drivers, auto-alignment systems, laser sources quad detector systems, TEC controllers, and shutter/flipper controllers, the TCH002 also boasts a robust design. However, to ensure reliable operation, the unit should not be exposed to corrosive agents or excessive moisture, heat, or dust. If the TCH002 has been stored at a low temperature or in an environment of high humidity, it must be allowed to reach ambient conditions before being powered up.
