The ThorLabs TSC001 is a T-Cube shutter controller designed to provide easy manual and automated control of solenoid-operated shutters, flipper mounts, and other similar devices. Boasting a compact design of 60mm x 60mm x 47mm (2.4" x 2.4" x 1.8") and a single channel, the TSC001 is equipped with a range of features that make it stand out from the crowd.

One of the TSC001's key features is its ability to operate 15 V solenoid actuated devices. Additionally, the TSC001 is embedded with a DSP processor that provides a multimode of flexible operating modes, enabling users to control solenoid devices manually using panel buttons, automatically with DSP-timed operation, or with external trigger signals for operation with third-party equipment. Furthermore, a trigger out connection allows multiple T-Cube controllers to be connected together for multichannel synchronized operation.

The TSC001 can be used as either a stand-alone device or combined with the TCH002 controller hub for applications utilizing multiple T-Cubes. The TCH002 has been specifically designed with multiple T-Cube operations in mind, simplifying issues such as various mounting of an optical table scenarios, several USB device communications, power supply routing, and management of cables. To help users get set up quickly, the TSC001 is coupled with the very user-friendly apt™ software. With the extensive ActiveX® programming environment, the user can engage custom control sequences that are advanced. Furthermore, with a compact multi-way power supply unit, up to 8 T-cube drivers can be powered through one mains outlet through a short power leads connection, taking up minimal space and easily mounted onto an optical table that is close to the driver units.

For added convenience, the TSC001 has manual controls that can be found on the upper surface of the unit. The mode button switches the TSC001 between the various operating modes, while the enable button is used to initiate manual or automatic operation of the solenoid controller output. There is also a safety key switch and interlock plug fitted to this compact unit for use in laser safety applications. For multi-channel applications, the TCH002 USB Controller Hub contains a USB 2.0 hub circuit that is fully compliant, providing power and communications for up to six T-Cubes. To control a PC, the user only requires one USB connection to the controller hub.
