The XYR1 by ThorLabs is a highly efficient XY linear translation stage designed to meet the precise requirements of imaging applications that demand illumination from underneath a sample. With a central SM1-threaded through hole, the XYR1 is perfect for use in microscopy, metrology, and research and development settings.

The XYR1 is a low-profile stage, standing at just 1.00" tall, and comes equipped with two axes and a rotating platform, making it a versatile addition to any laboratory or industrial facility. The X and Y micrometers offer an impressive 1/2" (13 mm) of travel, with graduations every 0.001" (10 µm), and can rotate continuously for 360°. Because of the spring force on the actuator, the XYR1 can be held securely in position without the need for a locking screw. The stage surface features a range of 1/4"-20 (M6), 8-32 (M4), and 4-40 tapped holes, and an XYR1A flat adapter plate can be used to convert the surface into a flat one.

On the XYR1's rotating platform’s outer edge, there is an engraved angular scale that allows the users to set the angular orientation of the stage, which can then be fixed using the 5/64" (2 mm) hex locking set screw. Locking the rotation axis does not impede translation along the X and Y axes, and the stage's rotation and translation can be freely changed without compromising the stability of attached components. The XYR1 is also designed to work seamlessly with compatible SLH1 microscope slide spring clips, featuring 3 alignment holes for the Ø1/8" × 1/4" dowel pins included with the clips. These dowel pins center the middle of a 1" × 3" microscope slide over the through hole, allowing users to repeatedly and accurately position the slides on the stage. The spring clips include two 8-32 (M4) threaded shoulder screws with a 3/32" (2.5 mm) hex socket for easy attachment to the stage.
