The Z625B by ThorLabs is a motorized actuator designed for reliable motion control in a lightweight, durable, and compact package. With its 25mm travel, the Z625B serves as a drop-in replacement for manual actuators in a range of compatible optomechanical mounts and positioners.
Built to meet the rigorous demands of optical positioning devices, the Z625B boasts a 12V DC servo-motor and gear head for the drive elements. Commercial limit switches have also been added to provide overdrive protection and accurate home positioning. Designed with precision in mind, the Z625B features a motor-mounted rotary encoder, 12,288 Counts/Rev of lead screws, and a gear reduction of 256:1. This, combined with a high-resolution optical encoder (12,288 counts/rev), ensures extremely small incremental movements of approximately 0.05 µm.
