The ZST13 by ThorLabs is a stepper motor actuator that is designed to meet the most demanding precision requirements. The ZST13 is built to be lightweight, compact, and extremely durable, making it an ideal choice for a wide variety of applications, including mirror mounts, translation stages, microscopes, and OEM components.

One of the key benefits of the ZST13 is its ability to provide sub-micron incremental movement, allowing for high precision in even the most compact laboratory setups. The actuator is powered by a small-diameter, dual-phase stepper motor that can operate at speeds up to 0.5 mm/s and move loads of up to 12 lbs. The ZST13 is compatible with a range of mounting options, including a high-tolerance Ø0.375" mounting barrel for fastening into any application compatible with precision micrometer heads. It can also be used with a 1/4"-80 threaded barrel for use with any standard manual mirror mount using 1/4"-80 threaded adjusters.

The ZST13 is designed to provide exceptional accuracy and reliability, thanks to its use of electromechanical limit switches that prevent overdriving and provide homing capability with better than 10 µm accuracy. Additionally, the rear-mounted, high-density push/pull connectors offer a durable and compact connectivity solution.

The ZST13 utilizes a current-limited 2 phase bipolar stepper motor and a 76:1 gear reduction to multiply both the torque and resolution of the actuator while maintaining a compact package. This provides very small movements over the entire travel range, allowing greater flexibility combined with fine resolution. The actuator is also equipped with mechanical limit switches to protect it from damage due to overdriving. To further enhance its functionality, the ZST13 is compatible with a ZST-CAB2 cable, which has a hirose connector on one end and a 15-Pin, D-type connector on the other end for use with the TST001 Stepper Motor Controller.
