The AC254-050-A-ML is equipped with engravings that indicates the focal length, part number, and AR coating that is deposited onto the surface clearly. The engraved arrow points from the flatter side of the lens, which is the side of the lens with a radius of curvature that is the largest, to the side that boasts a smaller radius of curvature and indicates the suggested direction of the propagation of light to collimate a point source. When focusing a collimated beam, the opposite direction of light propagation should be indicated with the engraved arrow. Furthermore, the lens is confirmed to have an infinite conjugate ratio with an infinity symbol found on the doublet, ensuring precision in imaging applications. By positioning a light source away from the flatter side of a lens at an approximate distance of one focal length, it is possible to collimate the rays emitted from the curved side.
