The AC254-075-A-ML by ThorLabs is an achromatic doublet that is mounted in threaded mounts that are engraved for easy integration into an optomechanical setup. The AC254-075-A-ML is designed to control chromatic aberration and is particularly useful for achieving a diffraction-limited spot when working with sources that are monochromatic like lasers.

With a diameter of Ø1" and clear engraving that indicates the focal length, the part number, and the antireflection coating that is found on the lens’ surface, the AC254-075-A-ML is a reliable and easy-to-use optical component. The arrow that is etched onto the lens points in the direction of the side that boasts a smaller radius of curvature from the flatter side that has the larger radius of curvature, that indicates the suggested direction of light propagation used for collimation of a point source. When the engraved arrow is pointing in the opposing direction of light propagation allows the user to accurately focus a collimated beam. Additionally, the AC254-075-A-ML has an infinity symbol that indicates that the lens has an conjugate ratio that is infinite.

Designed for use in the visible spectral region (400 - 700 nm) and computer optimized at infinite conjugate ratios, the AC254-075-A-ML uses design wavelengths that represent the visible spectrum and are used to define the Abbe Number, Vd, of a material. The lens is optimized using hydrogen "F" (486.1 nm, blue/green), hydrogen "C" (656.3 nm, red) lines, and helium "d" (587.6 nm, yellow) making it a reliable and accurate choice for a range of optical applications. The AC254-075-A-ML is available in both positive and negative radius of curvature options, and both versions have an infinite conjugate ratio.
