The AC254-150-A-ML by ThorLabs is an highly-efficient achromatic doublet lenses that has been constructed with precision and is mounted firmly in an engraved threaded mount for easy integration into different setups. This top-of-the-line lens provides excellent control over chromatic aberration, making it an ideal solution for achieving a diffraction-limited spot when using a monochromatic source such as a laser.
With a diameter of Ø1", the AC254-150-A-ML is perfectly sized for a wide range of applications and comes equipped with an engraved arrow that clearly indicates the focal length, the number that defines the part, and an antireflection coating deposited on the surface. The recommended direction of the propagation of light for point source collimation is indicated with an arrow that points from the AC254-150-A-ML’s side that has a large radius of curvature to to the side with the smaller radius of curvature. The engraved arrow should indicate the light propagation’s opposing direction by pointing to it when engaging in collimated beam focusing. An infinity symbol denotes that this lens has an infinite conjugate ratio.
The AC254-150-A-ML is a specially designed lens that operates in the visible light spectrum (400 - 700 nm). Through computer optimization, it performs consistently and effectively in different environments with any distance of conjugations. Various wavelengths are used to calculate the Vd, or Abbe Number, of a specific material, these include the yellow helium "d" (587.6 nm), blue/green hydrogen "F" (486.1 nm) and red hydrogen "C" (656.3 nm). These can reflect the visible spectrum accurately and provide efficient results.
