The BPD127-FS by ThorLabs is a top-of-the-line polka dot beamsplitter that delivers exceptional performance across the entire UV to Mid-IR wavelength range of 250 nm to 2.0 µm. The BPD127-FS is a versatile and reliable solution for a wide range of applications that require a constant reflection-to-transmission ratio. One of the standout features of this beamsplitter is its ability to maintain a consistent reflection-to-transmission ratio, regardless of the incident angle of light. This makes it an excellent choice for use with incoherent radiant sources.
The BPD127-FS boasts a UV-grade fused silica substrate that is coated with vacuum-deposited aluminum. This aluminum coating is applied over an array of precisely spaced apertures, which gives the beamsplitter its characteristic "polka dot" appearance. As the beam passes through the beamsplitter, it is split evenly by reflection from the aluminized coating and transmission through the part of the substrate that is non-aluminized. Each of the square dots on the BPD127-FS measures 0.0040" on a slide, with a spacing of 0.0022" in all directions. The beamsplitter has a 50:50 beam split ratio, a nominal thickness of 1.5 mm, and an angle of incidence of 0° to 45°.
