The DG10-120-F01 by ThorLabs is a reflective ground glass diffuser is an optimal solution for applications that necessitate a diffuse intensity pattern. This advanced diffuser features a UV-enhanced aluminum coating, which is deposited on the ground side of the optic to ensure insusceptibility to absorption losses, and allows the diffuser to achieve >90% average reflectance in the 250 to 450 nm range. Compared to sand blasted diffusers, the DG10-120-F01 has greater surface uniformity, and its coarser grit of 120 provides a unique reflective intensity distribution and a wider diffuser pattern.

With a thickness of 2.0 mm, the DG10-120-F01 is too thin to use with standard mirror mounts. However, it can be mounted using a compatible fixed mount for Ø1" optics, Ø1" lens tubes, or a threaded kinematic mount. When mounting the diffuser in a threaded optic mount, it is important to ensure that the ground and coated surface face the lip of the mount, and the retaining ring secures the uncoated side. Mounting the diffuser in the opposite direction will recess the reflective face inside the mount, causing the housing to block a portion of the diffusely reflected light. The DG10-120-F01 also displays a near-gaussian intensity pattern at small angles of incidence.
