The ELU-25-10X-248 by ThorLabs is a state-of-the-art 10X Galilean Optical Beam Expander designed to expand or reduce the diameter of the input beam with unparalleled precision and minimal wavefront error. With diffraction limited performance, this beam expander offers outstanding optical quality, ensuring that the expanded beam can be focused to a narrower diffraction-limited waist with ease. Crafted with precision engineering, the ELU-25-10X-248 is constructed with two lenses that are meticulously designed to minimize aberrations in the collimated beam, resulting in excellent image quality.
The input lens of the ELU-25-10X-248 is mounted in a precision milled tube that can slide in and out of the tube containing the output lens, which makes for an easy adjustment of the collimating lens, all while minimizing the beam walk off effect. This beam expander allows for the installation of additional lenses and filters along the optical axis of the beam expander with its threaded input and output apertures. Furthermore, the beam expander is constructed from best form UV fused silica, which can withstand a high damage threshold of 500 MW/cm². The ELU-25-10X-248 is designed with user convenience in mind. It can be mounted via either the 1/4"20 or the M6 threaded hole in the base, and the groove milled into the base can be used to clamp the beam expander to an optical table using CL6 mounting cleats. Additionally, the narrowband AR coatings on both optics minimize surface reflections, ensuring exceptional performance every time.
