The LC1060-A by ThorLabs is a plano-concave lens that is designed to enhance the transmission of both near-infrared and visible light. Crafted from RoHS-compliant N-BK7 glass, the LC1060-A boasts a broadband antireflection coating that operates within the 350 - 700 nm range. This special coating serves to significantly reduce losses per surface, which would otherwise occur when using an uncoated lens.

The N-BK7 substrate, which makes up the bulk of the LC1060-A, is a common optical glass that is widely used in high-end optical components. The LC1060-A, in particular, is an excellent option for situations where the benefits of UV fused silica are not required. This plano-concave lens has a negative focal length of -30.0 mm and is particularly useful for diverging collimated beams. It is recommended that the curved surface of the lens faces the source in order to minimize spherical aberration. Moreover, this lens is an effective tool for offsetting the effects of spherical aberration caused by other lenses within an optical system.
