The LC4357 is uncoated and has a negative focal length of -50.0 mm, which makes it an ideal optic for a diverse set of applications. It is most often used to diverge an incident beam that is collimated; however, in order to decrease spherical aberrations, the collimated light source must be incident on the surface that is curved. The LC4357 produces virtual images and is frequently utilized as the entrance optic in Galilean-type beam expanders, providing the desired divergence before a doublet is employed to collimate the beam a second time. The LC4357 lens comes in a Ø1/2" size, has an uncoated wavelength range of 185 nm - 2.1 μm, and can be utilized in pairs to increase the effective focal length of a converging lens.
