The LD1357-A by ThorLabs is a high-quality bi-concave lens that is fabricated from premium N-BK7 substrate. The LD1357-A has an state-of-the-art antireflection (AR) coating that covers the 350 - 700 nm wavelength range. On both sides of the lens this coating can be found, which significantly reduces the amount of light reflected from each surface.
The LD1357-A lens has a -50.0 mm negative focal length and is ideally suited for diverging a converging beam. The lens functions in a manner similar to plano-concave lenses and like a Galilean-type beam expander, it can diverge a collimated beam to a virtual focus effectively. The LD1357-A lens is also designed to provide exceptional optical performance, thanks to its premium-quality N-BK7 substrate. This material boasts a lower Abbe Number than the commonly used N-SF11 substrate, resulting in lower dispersion for the lens. The LD1357-A lens has a size of Ø12.7 mm, making it a perfect choice for a wide range of applications. Additionally, the lens has a λ/4 spherical surface irregularity, further enhancing its optical capabilities.
