The NE06A by ThorLabs is an absorptive neutral density (ND) filter, a high-quality optical filter designed for precision light control in low-power applications. With an optical density (OD) of 0.6, the NE06A is ideal for managing light intensity with accuracy and consistency. Featuring a diameter of Ø25 mm, the NE06A is conveniently mounted in a SM1-threaded (1.035"-40) lens tube, allowing for seamless integration into optomechanical setups. The housing of the NE06A is laser-engraved with both the part number and optical density, making identification and selection a breeze.

Constructed from a carefully selected Schott glass substrate, the NE06A exhibits a flat absorption coefficient that is spectrally flat in the visible region of 400 - 650 nm, ensuring reliable performance in a wide range of applications. For added versatility, the NE06A is directly compatible with various optomechanical parts that are rigid in construction, including cage systems and lens tube accessories, making it easy to incorporate into existing setups. When desired, the NE06A filter can be easily removed from its housing by unscrewing the retaining ring, for maintenance or customization purposes. For hassle-free removal of the retaining ring, a spanner wrench can be an ideal match, ensuring smooth and efficient filter replacement.
