It is specifically tailored for measuring the power of light sources with varying beam uniformity, divergence angle, beam shape, or entrance angle. The S148C is an excellent choice for use with fiber sources and off-axis free space sources.

With an optical power working range from 1 µW to 1000 mW, the S148C offers accurate and precise measurements. Its wavelength range of 1200 nm to 2500 nm makes it ideal for use in the near-infrared (NIR) region. Additionally, the S148C is compatible with power meter display units, and its non-volatile memory in the sensor connector contains sensor information data and NIST and PTB traceable calibration data. This calibration data can be used to test the individual sensor, making it easy to retrieve and access when needed.

The S148C features an extended InGaAs photodiode detector that is optimized for use in the NIR wavelength range. The sensor comes equipped with a single Ø1" or Ø2" sphere made from Zenith® PTFE, ensuring its durability and reliability. The black housing of the sensor is designed to minimize reflected light around the entrance aperture, ensuring that the measurements are accurate and precise. The sensor features a Ø5 mm aperture, externally SM1-threaded (1.035"-40) front connections, enhanced shielding against electromagnetic interference, and an over-temperature alert sensor.

The S148C is incredibly versatile and easy to use. It comes with an included S120-FC fiber adapter that can be used with FC/PC-terminated or FC/APC-terminated fiber. The externally SM1-threaded adapter (1.035"-40) can be removed using a size 1 screwdriver to place components closer to the window. Additionally, the sensor features 8-32- and M4-threaded tapped holes that can be used to mount the S148C to Ø1/2" posts and post holders.
