The B4C by ThorLabs is a high-quality kinematic cage cube platform that can be mounted on the top or bottom of a C4W or C6WR 30 mm cage cube optic mount. The B4C is the perfect solution for building optical systems that involve prisms, beamsplitters, and other optics that are compatible with a 30 mm cage system.

One of the key features of the B4C is its ability to be coarsely rotated while inside the cage cube before being locked down at almost any angle using the included 4-40 button-head screws and 1/16" hex key. This allows for precise positioning and alignment of optical components. In addition, the B4C features M4 tapped holes that can be used with a compatible clamping arm to hold items such as prisms. This feature makes it easy to securely mount components and ensures that they will not shift or move during use.

To further enhance its functionality, the B4C also has three adjusters [5/64" (2.0 mm) hex] that provide pitch, roll, and Z translation, in addition to rotational positioning. The kinematic adjustment is provided by three 1/4"-80 adjuster screws that give ±4° pitch/roll articulation and up to 0.125" of Z translation. These features make it easy to achieve precise and accurate positioning of optical components. Lastly, the bottom of each platform features an 8-32 (M4) tapped hole, which allows it to be mounted onto a Ø1/2 Post. This feature makes it easy to integrate the B4C into an existing optical setup, and ensures that it will remain securely in place during use.
