The BE1 by ThorLabs is a pedestal base adapter, a versatile accessory designed to convert standard Ø1/2" post holes and Ø1" post extensions into stable pedestal-style mounts. Made from solid 303 stainless steel with a 1.25" (31.8 mm) outer diameter, the BE1 pedestal base adapter is built to last. With the BE1 pedestal base adapter, users can take advantage of a compatible series of clamping forks that allow for secure attachment to the post or post holder with ease. These clamping forks can be tightened using a 1/8" (3 mm) hex or ball driver for added convenience.

To ensure a stable and secure pedestal-style mount, the BE1 pedestal base adapter is compatible with a range of clamping forks that can be used to secure the mount to a breadboard or optical table. These clamping forks come in three sizes that provide clamping with 1/4"-20 (M6) Cap Screws consisting of 0.40" (10.2 mm), 1.24" (31.5 mm), and 1.75" (44.4 mm) long counterbored slots. Furthermore, a swivel fork that can rotate 360° can be used to select the most convenient mounting hole. It is worth noting that excessive over-tightening of the clamping forks can deform the surface of an optical table, which may cause misalignment of components. Therefore, it is important to use caution when tightening the clamping forks onto the pedestal-style mount.
