The CLR1 by ThorLabs is a top-of-the-line rotatable lens mount specifically designed for use with Ø1" round cylindrical lenses and other rotationally sensitive optics within a lens tube system. Unlike standard lens mounts or lens tube systems, the CLR1 mount can only focus or expand light in one dimension. This can make it challenging to align with other components in a lens tube setup. However, with this lens mount sandwiched between two lens tubes, rotation of the mounted optic can be achieved without disturbing the attached lens tubes.

The back side of the CLR1 features an SM1 (1.035"-40) quick release adapter that allows the mount to be quickly disconnected and reconnected to a lens tube setup. To insert an optic into the mount, the adapter must be removed, but once the optic is mounted, the adapter can be reattached. The CLR1 is highly versatile and can rotate 360°, allowing for easy adjustment of an optic, SM1-threaded component, or platform. A top-located setscrew can be tightened with a 0.05" (1.3 mm) hex key or balldriver to secure the rotational position of the mount. This ensures that the mount remains stable and in place, even in the most challenging conditions. In addition to its impressive functionality, this lens mount is also post-mountable via an 8-32 (M4) tapped hole.
